Proudly presented by Tiger Beer and organized by Soundscape Records, this Chinese independent bands competition will be opened for registrations beginning 1/6/2005. This event is another collaboration between Tiger Beer and Soundscape Records following the success of “Street Roar 2003, 2004” and the “Trans-regional Independent Music Festival”, to bring you yet another unique local Chinese independent music event. The objective of the competition is to organize a "revolutionary" music competition among independent music bands and push forward the development of local Chinese independent music. Through the competition, Tiger Beer and Soundscape Records hopes to uncover a new generation of independent bands, allowing them the space to gain music experience, and expose the power of their unique music creations. With a banner that “Challenges the old, and embraces the new”, the competition stresses “independent spirit” and “experimental attitude” in its search for new independent music talents. In the aspect of judging, this competition not only place emphasis on the technicalities and stage showmanship of the participating bands, but also greatly looks upon the spirit of "adventure", "originality" and "experiment" as its judging criteria. The competition will be inviting influential musicians and critics from local and overseas as its judges, setting the standard of music and keeping them on par with credibility. Tiger Beer believes that through this competition, more new talents may be discover among the local Chinese independent bands, allowing them the opportunity to achieve their musical dreams. There are many talented local DIY bands quietly working in their own music development with an independent spirit and attitude bound to their unique music creations, what they lack is a platform to expose and unleash their unique musical energy. The competition seeks to provide this space to allow these unique talents the freedom to express their musical spirit and creativity to their fullest potential.
