Sunburst KL International Music Festival 2008

On 15th March 2008, Kuala Lumpur will act as the musical centre stage in an impressive world-class event that brings together a collection of renowned artists and musicians from around the world, all performing in one venue. The inaugural event will be a 1-day festival, with 26 live performances spread out over 4 different stages, cramped into a 12-hour programme of continuous music, all for just RM200 per ticket (1 ticket price only). With a tagline ‘The Fun Starts Here’, Sunburst KL is the most exciting event to hit the Malaysian music scene! Featuring live performances by some of the world’s biggest names in music, Sunburst KL will showcase a diverse range of music from the sounds of Rock, Jazz, R&B and Hip-Hop. Genting International Jazz Festival 2008

Jazz enthusiasts must not miss the return of the spectacular jazz festival which will be held for two consecutive nights in Genting Highlands this April. To date, a total of 10 jazz bands from various countries are set to perform. The jazz festival aims to keep the audience on their toes with each band going on stage with a completely different style from the previous, while showcasing the various jazz genres from as many different cultures as possible.
From Malaysia, we have jUnKoFuNc, the masters of making magic with jazz. Ben Belinga has many renown hits but just mention "Lambada" and you know he has a winner under his belt with 15 million hits sold. From Down Under, we have Diamond Dave and The Doodaddies to proof the roots of the blues are strong and far reaching. Hamilton de Holanda's flawless playing is very much Brazilian, though in a contemporary way. As for Salsa Celtica, with four albums released to date, they have taken Europe and many countries by storm!
Key Elements from Singapore has performed in various prestigious venues, and also to many renown dignitaries and high profile figures, including Singapore's President S.R Nathan and Minister Mentor Lee Kwan Yew. Meet Tangora, a fine looking lady, a great voice of Jazz and music of the sun. Also don't forget to look out for Schalk Joubert and his entourage, as well as the band Tighten Up! Jazz Jamaica.

Hamilton De Holanda (Brazil) - Classy quintet led by one of the most virtuostic mandolin player of today. Ben's Belinga Quartet (Cameroon) - Afro-soul jazz with saxophonist Ben – a mixture of music from the West Indies. Neander's Jazz Band (Denmark) - A sextet with a great sense of humour in New Orleans style. Salsa Celtica (Scotland) - Dynamic big band with an eclectic mix of latin salsa with a Celtic groove. Tangora (France, Trinidad) - Caressing female vocals backed by breathtaking jazz sextet. jUnKoFuNc (Malaysia) - A cross section of some of the best jazz musicians of Malaysia led by Albert Sirimal. Schalk Joubert and The Three Continents Sextet (Sweden, Norway, Australia, Spain, Africa) - Rhythms from Africa and harmonies from Europe – a heady mixture. Diamond Dave And The Doodaddies (Australia) - Chicago-styled rootsy blues, very much tongue-in-cheek. Key Elements (Singapore) - Sweet a capella jazz standards plus a mix of popular Mandarin songs Tighten Up! Genting presents Here & Now Tour 2008 - The Very Best Of 80s

21 & 22 March 2008 (Friday & Saturday), 8pm, Arena of Stars. The Here & Now tours are one of the most successful and high profile of all the 80s' tours. So far, there had been 5 UK tours as well as tours in Australia, Japan and Europe. Now, the tour stops over to Genting Highlands, bringing to you a line-up of evergreen artistes who include Bananarama, Paul Young, Johnny Hates Jazz and Limahl who will have the audience rocking in Arena of Stars. Bananarama's infectious 'Love In The First Degree' never fails to get the audience tapping on their feet when they perform this hit. Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2008

"Bringing the World to Indonesia" has always been the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival’s mission. It is a mission which has successfully distributed not only positive energy, but also optimism for PT Java Festival Production, the organizer of the world-class event. Over the years, names such as Chaka Khan, Jamie Cullum, Sergio Mendes, John Scofield, Ron Carter, Sadao Watanabe, and hundreds of other musicians have succeeded in making the public’s eye pop out of its socket.
Without a single doubt, these musicians have created humongous wave of vibrations throughout Jakarta with their own distinct musical skills. The former three successes of the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, which received the full support of the Jakarta Provincial Government, State Ministry of Tourism and Culture and embassies, have encouraged the international world to eradicate any form of doubt and turn its attention to this country. World-class performances and forms of entertainment took over Jakarta, providing incessant and various choices for the audience to enjoy.
The Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival directly supports the capital city’s tourism and culture program, “Enjoy Jakarta” and “Visit Indonesia Year 2008”. On 7, 8 and 9 March 2008, PT Java Festival Production, with the support of the Provincial Government of Jakarta and the State Ministry Office of Tourism, Art and Culture, and also the sponsors, has declared that it will once more hold the “Dji Sam Soe Super Premium Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2008.” The event, in its fourth year, will once more present world-class music performances in multiple stages spread all over the Jakarta Convention Centre area.
