Pop Shuvit "Live" on 8TV's "Latte at 8"

Band 'Pop Shuvit' performing live tonight on 8TV at midnight on Latte at 8 with Jason Lo (it's a live English talk show ala David Letterman) If you're a nocturnal being, then come down straight to Sunway Pyramid , Starbucks Coffee (near the entrance) to sit through the live show at midnight. It's aired live on national TV and you'll have your chance of being on TV. They will be interviewing two guests (celebrities, interesting characters) and have a live performance at the end weekly. Comparato Wins First Ever F1 Powerboat Victory - Cappellini Loses Hope Of 2004 World Championship

Press Release Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, September 25, 2004.... In what started as a clear lead for Cappellini in today's F1 Powerboat Grand Prix of Malaysia soon ended with a dramatic incident with Seaquest driver Bob Trask on lap 18. The drivers were racing at more than 200kmph and ended up colliding just prior to the bridge. The air turbulence literally sent both boats flying through the air with a spectacular double flip before smashing back into the water - amazingly almost in tact.... And in those split seconds Cappellini's chances of a world championship win were shattered!" This year is not my lucky year and I have yet to win in Malaysia," lamented Cappellini. "I am not giving up hope and will continue to race for first place in Korea. "With the debris removed from the circuit, racing continued with the waving of the green flag. Comparato quickly sprinted ahead holding both Cantando and Gillman at bay. Adrenalin was racing in the Comparato camp with the promise of an inaugural win still but a dream at this stage. Gillman continued to attack Cantando and although at one point managed to overtake, the Italian today was the stronger driver and managed to pull ahead. With a requirement of just 16 points to secure over these next three races the strategy in the Emirates team was for Gillman to finish rather than drive aggressively for first place - and it paid off. Malaysian driver was holding his pace well until unfortunately on lap 34 he hit a buoy which took him out of the race. With the yellow flag raised this gave other drivers the opportunity to close the gaps and have a go at catching Comparato. With the restart on lap 38 Cantando and Comparato were neck and neck - teams were holding their breath to see if Cantando could take him on the corner. Comparato however was absolutely determined and pulled away quickly leading the rest of the race to the chequered flag and his first ever win in his 50th race start. "I'm ecstatic!" said Comparato. "I knew I had some very fast laps and I just raced as hard as I could. At one stage I was worried as it was a very long race of 60 laps and I wondered if my boat would make it. Once I knew I could win I just pushed harder and harder. I'm very happy." "Today was definitely Comparato's race," enthused Gillman. "We did have a few problems with our boat this weekend, however I'm delighted with a third place win - the Championship is looking more likely." With a second place finish, Cantando has put himself strongly back in the World Championship running with just 19 points behind Scott Gillman. "I nearly passed Cantando today but he was much faster than me. I am extremely pleased for him and very happy to come in second place," commented Cantando. Gillman's team-mate Tany Al Qamzy also put in a very strong race finishing 4th today and ensuring a team win for the Emirates drivers. Philippe Dessertenne who finished second in Singapore was extremely hopeful for this race. However fire in his engine took him out on lap six - much to the disappointment of the Ligier team. All was not lost however with the 2nd driver Philippe Chiappe securing points when he finished in ninth place. David Trask from the Seaquest team finished in 6th place today and once again securing precious championship points. "I must be on a lucky streak," said David. Both Corona drivers performed strongly in Malaysia today with veteran Fabrizio Bocca finishing 5th and Jamie Stallard in 11th. "We are very happy to be both winning points - it was a great success for our team and it feels good to be up at the front again," said a delighted Bocca. The racing line up also saw Marco Gambi from the Interpass Castrol team finish in a surprise 7th position and the Belgium Julius Leysen finishing in 10th place. "Today was a wonderful and exciting Grand Prix," commented F1 Powerboat promoter Nicolo di San Germano.

Casting for film: Leap of Love

We’re casting for a feature film, Leap of Love, to be produced by Raintree Pictures. The story revolves around Chang Li-An, a Chinese girl in her mid 20s, and her obsession with the idea of finding her soul-mate. Her girlfriends scoff at her; her mother thinks she’s not being practical. Her best friend, KS, is in love with her and but Li-An doesn’t see that. Then, there is a French businessman who comes into the picture. The film is slated for international release, and as such, we are looking for a local/regional/international cast with neutral to American accents. Formula 1 Powerboat GP of Malaysia, Putrajaya, 25 & 26 September Inaugurated in 1981, this international competition is comparable to F1 car racing and as such similar rules apply. Teams of more than 14 different nationalities compete in the Grand Prix which is regulated by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM - International Powerboating Association). Driver’s race for a breathtaking 45 minutes following a circuit around a selected stretch of water (lake, river, or a sheltered bay). Qualifying on Saturday decide the pole position and formation of the grid ready for the race day on Sunday and world championship points Teams consist of a manager, two pilots, a team of mechanics, a technical infrastructure (trailer-workshop) and a public relations (welcome marquee) infrastructure. Two catamarans fitted with 2,5 -litre engines, compete in the thirteen Grand Prix that make up a full season. With more and more countries requesting to host a race on the UIM F1 Powerboat Championship circuit, criteria is very high. Generally a race can bring in as many as 70,000 spectators as well as worldwide media interest, so excitement over event weekend is great. Event organizers and spectators, across the 13 different countries visited in a F1 Powerboat season, will enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, adrenalin rush of this dynamic sport and the economic benefits such as increased tourism and spend that the powerboat entourage brings. Open to a wide variety of watersports activities, many organizers seek to host similar events such as Jetskiing, Speed Water Skiiing, Formula 3000 and Hydroplanes to create a total watersports festival during the race weekend. As the next step to our Blonde idol event which barBlonde has been running from February, Blonde idol winners are invited back to do a 45-minute showcase. On Tuesday 7th September, it's Melissa Indot's turn. Melissa will perform at 10pm on Tuesday 7th September at barBlonde, Asian Heritage Row. She will be backed by Carpe Diem. Scorpions & Search in concert

The combination of the Scorpions and Search in concert is just too hard to resist. The Scorpions’s one-night gig at Stadium Merdeka on Sept 13 is part of its South-East Asian tour, which also includes Bangkok, Jakarta and Medan. The veteran German band led by pocket-bomb vocalist Klaus Meine was last in Kuala Lumpur in 2001. These old boys are coming back to promote their latest album Unbreakable (released by BMG Malaysia). Guitarists Matthias Jabs and Rudolf Schenker, drummer James Kottak and new bassist Pawel Maciwoda complete the line-up. If you’re craving / needs/ falls during these times, then the places to go are... 1) 11am - 3pm (24hours) Hameediyah Restaurant (since 1960) Campbell Road - 80m from Penang Road...my fav combo are Chicken Kurma with Fish Curry + Massala Squid Eggs + Chilli Pickle... noni factor 4 out of 5... 2 helpings recommended... also the Murtabak is above average in Penang, the best in Penang (opposite GAMA) has since disappeared due to loss in kin line...also the Pasembur (Rojak to K Lians) is good here, especially with the lungs combo... noni factor 2 out of 5... don't say Rojak in Penang... you'll get the fruit kind.. 2) 11am - 1pm Tajuddin Tomato Rice... awesome Tomato Rice with Rose Chicken or Mutton and Rassam (by jugs on table).... beyond 1pm the Tomato Rice will be all gone... in Little India... either Queen or King Street.. Ferry area... noni factor 4/5.. 3) 5pm - 9pm Nasi Kandar Air Itam at the Air Itam flats.. very fresh curries but i can't remember if you need to turn left at the 2nd or 3rd traffic light on the Air Itam main road.. although... you can ask people to show the road to Paya Terubong from the 2nd or 3rd traffic light... noni factor 3 / 5. 4) 6pm - 6am Chowrosta Market Nasi Kandar, middle shophouse (light blue interior with booth sittings) opposite unloading area next to ice shop.... fav combo... Chicken or Fish Curry with Liver Black Sauce (banjir) and Ladies Fingers x 2 helpings ... noni factor 5/5... the market is eeerr.. funky... heheheheh... but you can always take away... 5) 8pm - 12mn Bayan Lepas Nasi Dalca... Kenduri style rice with Rose Chicken etc... turn left at the airport and stop on the left side after first traffic light.... should be a queue.. x 2 helpings... noni factor 4/5... ie all Curry / Gravy must be flooded (banjir) 6) Kayu Nasi Kandar has some merit but I've only had it once (the rest above are 2-3 times per week per restaurant) heh!... in Bayan Baru although they may have new rest. Bangkok Lane facing Pulau Tikus road opposite Chinese medical shop 8) 12noon - 5pm Mee Rebus Air Itam..... near the roundabout to funicular... All above are my must must have meals in Penang.... 9) Mee Mamak near hospital, cooked with coal... and 10) The achee on Gurney Drive... delicious gravies, Fresh Fried Tauhu.. Podium They have women’s clothes and shoes and swim wear. It opens on the 29th July 2004. It's a fast spreading secret among the high society ladies. It’s at Bangsar Village (near the mosque) on the 1st floor. It’s a cute nice small boutique that sells select clothes from Paris called Tara Jarmon (professional wear and classy wear) and clothes called Amanda***arling and shoes from Beatrice Ong (The ex creative director of Dato Jimmy Choo in London). Very very bling bling nice shoes. Amanda***arling has fun clothes and beach wear. Think Princess Diana and Channel style with a pinch of fun. The pieces are limited and one of a kind in Malaysia. Definely won't be caught with someone wearing the same threads. We like. Sorry guys..
