Julian Mokhtar & Friends @ Le Bernardin

Julian Mokhtar is a well-known name on the Malaysian music scene due to his 13-year stint as lead guitarist of the popular Malaysian blues/rock band Blues Gang. Julian and his friends' energetic mix of blues, rock, soul and reggae tunes drawn enthusiastic response from the audience at all their performances. The strength of this band lies not only in the talent and musicianship of the individual members but also in the way they play together. Fast, slow, skin-tight or laid back, this band has a groove that few can match. Sharing the spotlight with Julian's guitar work is Zarul on harmonica and occasional vocals, with suhaimi on drums and Julian's old Blues Gang bandmate Jim on bass as the rhythm section. At some gigs additional musicians, keyboardist Lord and percussionist John H, may join in. Julian has released his solo debut album, "About Time". The CD is available online from cdbaby.com.
