Every Friday 9:30pm 'til midnight: Torch Song Trilogy
Every Saturday 9:30pm 'til midnight: Classy Cabaret
Had enough of expensive "nouvelle cuisine" restaurants and rah-rah nights out at blaring bars? Don't you just sometimes want to have a really good dinner at a really nice place that's not expensive but has just the right ambience and entertainment that you have some fun without the drama?
Welcome to 1919 Bistro & Wine Bar. Or should we say, 1919 Bistro & Piano Bar? Starting this month, 1919 enters a whole new era in great dining and fabulous entertainment! Every Friday night, luxuriate in smoky, sultry and sizzling "Torch Songs" like "Summertime" and "The End Of A Love Affair".
On Saturdays, it's "Classy Cabaret" with saucy late-night standards, a bit of sassy musical theatre, and a couple of snappy finishes from Broadway and the West End.
Eat up these sexy cabaret performances every weekend starting at 9:30pm with our "Fab Five" female vocalists: Izlyn Ramli, Michelle Nunis, Maria Gomez, Maria Yasmin and Ida Marianna, who returns this month after a year away in Australia and we got her! In fact, we got all of them! Not forgetting the remarkable Llewellyn Marsh who accompanies these amazing singers on the very old, very beautiful baby grand.
As you eat all you can from our delicious new menu of Malaysian "Soul Food" (how else do you describe "Sirloin Masak Lemak" and "Green Mango Lamb Dalcha"), feast on the songs of Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Marvin Hamlisch and more, as our "Fab Five" channel the spirits of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Etta James, Billie Holliday and more! Three sets every night, with the last tune playing just around midnight!
Plus, with a whole new lounge bar, new landscaping and lots of other changes and improvements - as well as a great wine list that isn't ridiculously overpriced - The Piano Bar makes 1919 Bistro the perfect place for a s'wonderful weekend!
