Programmes for Adults Get Your Act Together! (GYAT) Conducted by Brian Cracknell (Commencing 20 August 2004) presented by The Actors Studio Academy & Language Works The Experience of Drama- based Learning Creativity is the key to growth in today's global economy. Are you looking for ways to tap into your own and others' creative resources? Do you want to generate new ideas, explore creative approaches to issues and opportunities, discover inner resources you never knew you had? Then this programme is for you! The atmosphere is spontaneous, supportive yet challenging. Objectives: -Strengthen working relationships -Heighten creative thinking and innovative problem-solving -Improve effectiveness in meetings, negotiation and teamwork -Discover practical ways to solve work-related and other problems -Develop active listening and communication skills -Devise an action plan for implementing a change in your working or personal life -Increase capability for coping with change, overcoming pitfalls, and facing challenges -Generate useful ideas that you can use time and again. Methodology: -Get Your Act Together (GYAT) puts participants in experiences that give them a chance to become actively involved at all stages. -Participants do the activity, and then reflect on it critically, drawing useful insights from it. -They then apply the concept to real life. -The facilitator helps to channel group dynamics towards objectives. -Participants analyse outcomes in relation to learning objectives set into the design. What are your capabilities, preferences and strenghts as a leader? Generate new ideas, explore creative approaches, and discover leadership resources you never knew you had. Take the Leading Role The atmosphere is spontaneous and supportive yet challenging. Conducted by Brian Cracknell (Commencing 21 August 2004) presented by The Actors Studio Academy & Language Works:Performing Productively, Creatively, with Limited Resources The pace of change is accelerating and expectations are rising that job will be done faster, cheaper, better. This workshop helps participants combine creativity in task or project and deliver within time constraints. In the process they create new knowledge, improvise as a team, and manage emerging contexts and complex situations. Do you want to tap into inner resources of creativity, productivity, innovation and resourcefulness?Then this proggramme is for you! The context provides support and opportunities for innovative ideas to emerge, with the challenge of time constraints. Objectives: -Project voice and image of self and team -Enhance interaction, performance, operational effeciency and teamwork -Bridge communication and perception gaps -Discover practical ways to solve work-related and other problems - Develop active listening and communication skills - Devise an action plan for acting for change in your working or personal life - Solve problems, adapt and switch roles as changing situations demand -Generate innovative ideas that you can apply immediately. They then transfer new knowledge to the working environment. - The participants work individually, in pairs and as an ensemble, performing dialogues and short scenes. They relate ideas from their presentation and performance back to their work and life. A graduate from the Melba Memorial Conservatorium of Music; she also attained her Australian Kodaly Certificate (a Hungarian method for teaching young musicians) from The Universityof Queensland. She has performed in various concerts in Australia and Malaysia, both as a soloist and accompanist. Susannah is the choir tutor of Tarcisian Convent, Ipoh, the National Champion for the Sukan Sea Choir Competition in 2001. Programmes for Children & Teens Children Theatre "Intermediate" Programme by Nala Nantha An advanced programme for children age between 4-12 years old who have had some form of training in speech and drama. The objective is to enhance and introduce more theatre based activities and games that would help participants work in team and be focused. The channelling of creativity helps to develop scenes and improvised works. Our programme is very unique as the children have the opportunity to present what they have learnt at the end of sessions. We hope that the programme would help in the overall development of the children.
