Curating the next round of Malaysian Documentaries, hosted once again by Kelab Seni Filem Malaysia. Screening details: Monday, 25 October 2004, 8:30 pm. Entry: Open to the public, free admission. Venue: Institut HELP Auditorium, Pusat Bandar Damansara, KL. All documentaries made by Malaysians and/or aboutMalaysian subjects are welcome. Preference will be given to works that are less than 20 minutes long and which have never been publicly screened ... although exceptions can be made. We regret that due to time constraints we are unable to screen all submissions. We aim to cap the whole compilation at 2 hours to enable time for a good Q&A with the directors. Feedback forms will also be provided in order for us to better gauge audience reaction. Submission format is minidv (PAL). No other format will be accepted. Please do not give your master tape but make a copy, which we will keep. All dialogue or important text not in English will require English subtitles. This is because the eventual compilation will be sent to overseas film festival curators. The deadline to receive your submission is Friday, 8 October. The early deadline is so that better publicity can be coordinated with the media in the form of interviews with the chosen directors.
