Meg Okura is a Grammy nominated jazz violinist, composer, erhu player, and leader of the Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble, based in New York City. Today, Meg wants to reach out to you about her first large jazz ensemble album, Ima Ima.
Some of the compositions date back to her pregnancy days five years ago, and she is really excited to finally bring this to fruition.
Meg is working with some of our (and your) good friends who are also the best musicians in jazz - Anne Drummond (fl.), Sam Newsome (s. sax), Sam Sadigursky (bs. cl), Rez Abbasi (gtr.), Riza Printup (hp.), Brian Marsella (pf.), Pablo Aslan (bs.), Jared Schonig (dms.), and Migiwa Miyajima (cond.). And legendary trumpetter, Tom Harrell as our very special guest.
