What happens when you take a classic written by one of the greatest English playwrights ever and re-tell it through an 800-year-old Asian art form? Audiences will have the opportunity to experience the result of this intriguing fusion soon.

The Actors Studio Teater Rakyat, with the support of klpac, will be bringing to you Mak Yong Titis Sakti, a Mak Yong performance based on Shakespeare’s romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Adapted by two exponents of this traditional Malay art form Norzizi Zulkifli and Nan Megat, and directed by Norzizi herself, it tells the tale of a love triangle gone wrong.
