Scorpions & Search in concert

The combination of the Scorpions and Search in concert is just too hard to resist. The Scorpions’s one-night gig at Stadium Merdeka on Sept 13 is part of its South-East Asian tour, which also includes Bangkok, Jakarta and Medan. The veteran German band led by pocket-bomb vocalist Klaus Meine was last in Kuala Lumpur in 2001. These old boys are coming back to promote their latest album Unbreakable (released by BMG Malaysia). Guitarists Matthias Jabs and Rudolf Schenker, drummer James Kottak and new bassist Pawel Maciwoda complete the line-up. The outdoor event, presented by Star Planet Sdn Bhd, also sees the much sought-after Search in performance. These local rock icons, led by frontman Amy, have had a very good year so far. They conquered Stadium Merdeka in February with 27,000 fans attending their concert. There has also been huge support for their Planet Hollywood gigs. Search is scheduled for a full-tilt, 45-minute set. Ticket prices for the Scorpions/Search concert range from RM48 to RM128, with various field and seating options.
